Accounts Assistant – Construction Industry

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Company:
We are a well-established construction company based in Teddington, delivering a range of residential and commercial projects across London and the South East. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our busy and friendly office team.
The Role:
You will play a key role in supporting the finance department with day-to-day accounting functions, with a particular focus on the construction industry’s specific requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Processing CIS payments and ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations
*
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
*
Reconciling supplier statements and managing purchase ledger
*
Assisting with payroll and expense processing
*
Raising and processing invoices
*
Supporting month-end and year-end financial reporting
*
Liaising with project managers and site teams to ensure accurate financial records
*
General accounts administration and support to the finance manager
Requirements:
*
Previous experience in a construction or contracting environment is essential
*
Solid understanding of CIS and VAT procedures
*
Experience using accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)
*
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
*
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
*
Good communication skills and a proactive approach
*
Must be based locally to Teddington or within easy commuting distance
