Mixed Animal Vet Surgeon
J664375 Dundee Central Belt £35K - £65K / Year
Apply Save An established, multi-site mixed veterinary practice primarily based in Dundee, Scotland is looking to welcome a Veterinary Surgeon to join its experienced and supportive team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a genuinely varied caseload, combining equine, farm and small animal, within a progressive and well-structured environment.
The role is full time and offers strong clinical support, making it suitable for experienced mixed vets as well as exceptional new or recent graduates with a genuine interest in mixed practice and a desire to develop their skills across disciplines. You'll work as part of a dedicated equine and farm team within a larger mixed practice, benefiting from close collaboration, mentoring and shared expertise.
The on-call rota is evenly shared and designed with wellbeing in mind, including protected rest time following nights, a weekly half day, and time off after weekend duties. Out-of-hours calls are supported by a phone service and lone worker safety systems.
The practice is well equipped to support high-quality mixed practice, with in-house laboratory facilities, equine stabling and stocks, and a comprehensive range of ambulatory and diagnostic equipment including mobile digital X-ray, ultrasound, respiratory scope and fertility testing tools. Visiting specialists are also available, allowing many cases to be managed in-house.
The position offers:
1. Competitive salary, dependent on experience
2. 32 days' holiday plus your birthday off
3. 5 days' CPD with a generous allowance
4. Support and funding for further qualifications
5. A collaborative, team-focused culture with protected breaks
6. A genuine emphasis on worklife balance
The role is based in a coastal Scottish city with excellent transport links and affordable living, offering easy access to mountains, countryside and beaches, alongside a vibrant cultural and outdoor lifestyle.
This opportunity would suit a vet keen to develop or maintain a true mixed caseload within a supportive, forward-thinking practice that values both clinical excellence and quality of life.
