We are seeking an experienced and decisive Engineering Manager to lead and strengthen our Office of Airworthiness capability within Boeing's Commercial Modifications EASA Part 21J Design Organisation.Reporting to the Engineering Integration Leader, with matrix alignment to the Design Organisation's Chief Engineer and Head of Design, this position plays a critical role in stabilising regulatory discipline, strengthening technical maturity and reinforcing predictable certification governance across a growing and complex modification portfolio.This is a leadership role for someone who combines regulatory depth, sound judgement and the ability to lead a team that provides calm, credible regulatory oversight.
* Leadership & Capability: Lead and develop Airworthiness Engineers; maintain capability to meet programme demand; promote environment aligned with SMS principles
* Airworthiness Team Operations: Set priorities, allocate resources, plan capacity, provide forward visibility, and elevate constraints early
* Set programme priorities, align with integration governance and portfolio demand.
* Balance operational workload to ensure certification oversight is applied
* Lead structural resource allocation and capacity planning to support concurrent programmes
* Provide forward-looking visibility of Airworthiness demand across upcoming bids, contract awards and lifecycle milestones.
* Identify capacity gaps and elevate resource constraints early
* Drive operational discipline in how oversight activities are planned, tracked and executed across the portfolio
* Oversight & Governance: Provide independent regulatory oversight; ensure change classification, traceability, compliance docs, and risk escalation
* Programme Integration: Represent airworthiness at lifecycle milestones; surface regulatory gaps and retain technical authority
* Regulatory Support: Support regulatory engagement, audits, RCAs, and monitor regulatory changes
* Improvement: Strengthen oversight consistency, traceability, and pragmatic digital/process enhancements
* Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
* 6+ years within an EASA Part 21J DOA environment
* Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
* Demonstrated experience supporting complex STC or major modification programmes
* Strong knowledge of CS-25 and certification frameworks
* Experience operating at delegated authority level or equivalent decision responsibility preferred
* Experience providing regulatory oversight or governance functions
* Experience leading or mentoring engineers in regulated environments
* Strong judgement and calm decision-making under pressure
* Comfortable operating in matrix governance structures
* Travel availability
