Overview
Senior Environmental (EIA) Consultant - London & South East. Role at WSP in the UK & Ireland.
What you will do
* Support the Environmental Management and Assessment Team in the London or South East Teams (London, Cambridge, Guildford, Reading, Basingstoke, Southampton).
* Contribute to projects across sectors such as energy, aviation, nuclear, rail, property and Local Government, with a focus on environmental design, assessment and management through the development lifecycle.
* Manage environmental inputs to schemes, including EIA screening, scoping reports, environmental constraints studies, environmental management plans and Environmental Statements.
* Lead or support project delivery with regard to technical quality, schedule, budget and health and safety, and build relationships with clients to support resourcing, programming and strategy.
* Support business development activities, including proposals and bid preparation, and promote innovative techniques (e.g., Digital EIA, Technical Excellence, Future Ready EIA).
* Inspire and develop junior colleagues and promote an inclusive, health-and-safety–driven culture.
What you will demonstrate
* A relevant environmental degree in EIA, or similar
* Chartered status and Full membership of IEMA (or working towards), or a similar professional qualification
* Experience of EIA processes with limited supervision within multi-disciplinary teams
* Knowledge of relevant environmental and planning legislation
* Post-qualified experience coordinating environmental assessments on various projects
* Understanding of project management, commercial/risk aspects, forecasting and quality assurance
* Experience in winning work and bid preparation
* Experience liaising with cross-discipline teams, clients and external bodies
* Strong verbal and written communication, including report writing
