About The Role
Looking to start a career in healthcare whilst gaining a qualification but unsure where to begin?

Join us as an Apprentice Clinical Support Worker. You'll work towards an apprenticeship over a maximum of 16 months, earn a competitive salary, and play a key role in caring for our patients.

We have roles in our ward areas, but we're particularly looking to recruit people who have a passion for delivering care to patients in the community setting in a place they call home.

What You Will Gain

* On-the-job training with experienced NHS professionals
* A nationally recognised qualification
* A supportive learning environment
* The chance to care for patients in their own homes and local settings.

We welcome applicants with no previous care experience, and we'll support you throughout your apprenticeship. We provide a comprehensive training programme, starting with the Care Certificate, and an induction in our award-winning healthcare academy.

Our core values of caring, improving, respect, and high standards are at the heart of everything we do, and we expect all our staff to live by these values every day. We are looking for compassionate, enthusiastic individuals who are eager to learn and grow with a genuine desire to help others and be part of something bigger.

Role
Please be aware that Annex 21 of the band 3 salary scale will apply to this role, meaning your salary will be calculated as follows:

* on commencement of training: 70% of the top of band 3

Be part of the NHS. Be part of your community.

Main duties
The role is a key part of the nursing team, offering compassionate care to patients, carers, and relatives at the Trust.

You will work under the direction of a qualified member of staff to ensure the safe and skilled delivery of a range of clinical tasks.

You will need to maintain a professional appearance at all times and build positive, respectful relationships with staff, patients, and families.

You will protect the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of individuals, ensuring that equality and diversity are respected in everything you do.

Skills
During your apprenticeship, you will learn the necessary theory and skills to undertake a range of core clinical skills, including but not limited to:

* Venepuncture, blood pressure, cannula removal, heart rate monitoring, temperature, swabbing, samples such as urine dip, wound care and simple dressing, pregnancy tests, and catheter removal and insertion.

As an apprentice clinical support worker you will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week, however you will be given dedicated study time in order to complete the apprenticeship.
