Director of Rooms
Salary: £48,000 – £52,000 per annum
Location: Hertfordshire
Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Director of Rooms to lead the Rooms Division of a luxury hotel. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional with a strong operational background and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Reporting to senior management, you will oversee the day‑to‑day operation of Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and related departments, ensuring the highest standards of service, presentation, efficiency, and profitability are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate, and develop the Rooms Division team
* Oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Relations, and Concierge operations
* Drive guest satisfaction and maintain exceptional service standards
* Manage departmental budgets, labour costs, and operational performance
* Ensure guest rooms and public areas are maintained to the highest standards
* Recruit, train, and develop team members across the division
* Work closely with other department heads to deliver a seamless guest experience
* Support revenue growth through effective room operations and upselling initiatives
* Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and operational procedures
The Ideal Candidate
* Previous experience in a senior Rooms Division, Hotel Operations, or Hotel Management role
* Strong leadership and team development skills
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities
* Commercially minded with experience managing budgets and KPIs
* Passionate about luxury hospitality and guest service excellence
* Hands‑on approach with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
