Full-time and Permanent Teacher of French (ideally with Cymraeg)
1 September 2025
or as soon as possible thereafter
We are seeking an enthusiastic, well-qualified teacher of French ideally with Cymraeg to join our outstanding team here at Ysgol Gyfun Heolddu Comprehensive School.
The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject and possess the skills to inspire and motivate students with a broad range of abilities across Key Stage 3 and 4. We are looking for someone dynamic, inspiring and committed to the highest expectations for all of our learners. Our language teachers are highly experienced, supportive and successful at all Key Stages, including post-16, with increasing numbers of pupils opting at GCSE and A Level provision delivered here at Heolddu on behalf of the Upper Rhymney Valley Partnership. The languages team has recently featured as part of an Estyn thematic review of International Languages, contributing to case studies focused on effective transition and planning for progression. The successful candidate will join a committed team of teachers who work effectively together to secure the best possible outcomes for our pupils. The ability to teach outside of the language faculty would be beneficial.
At Ysgol Gyfun Heolddu we are proud to be a warm, welcoming school that has high expectations of all learners in our community. Staff, students, parents and partners work closely together towards our mission statement ‘Achieving Excellence Together’.
Estyn 2018 found that Heolddu “is a caring learning community that promotes inclusivity and wellbeing successfully” and that our pupils are “courteous and respectful towards staff, visitors and fellow pupils. They behave well, arrive promptly to lessons and demonstrate positive attitudes to learning. Pupils are proud to belong to the Heolddu school community”. We are proud to be a Walkthrus coaching school, delivering professional learning to education colleagues regionally and nationally.
The closing date for applications is: 12pm Monday 16 June 2025.
Interviews will take place w/b 23 June 2025.
Any queries should be directed to the School Business Manager: Miss L Harris lharris@ heolddu.org
