Make safety count - on a national scale!
We’re looking for a CDM Coordinator to play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening health, safety, environmental and quality practices across a major UK government infrastructure programme.
This is more than a compliance role. You’ll be a trusted safety professional, influencing how work is planned, managed and delivered—helping embed safe systems of work and robust risk management.
The Role
Joining the UK & Ireland Projects team, you’ll support a large-scale government portfolio covering 800 sites nationwide. Working closely with designers, contractors and operational teams, you’ll help ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly and to the highest standard—reinforcing ISS’s reputation as a leader in safety-focused facilities support.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Review and approve RAMS, challenging content and ensuring they’re fit for purpose
* Issue Authorities to Work and Permits to Work in line with agreed processes
* Complete risk assessments, site audits and contractor spot checks
* Provide practical, proactive HSEQ/CDM guidance to project and operational teams
* Coordinate designers and contractors in line with CDM Regulations
* Prepare and support PCI/PCC documentation and maintain the Health & Safety File
* Support the rollout and ongoing compliance of HSEQ/CDM plans
* Use reporting tools to track activity, identify trends and drive continuous safety improvement
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in a CDM, HSEQ or safety role within Projects or Facilities Management
* IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH
* CITB CDM qualification
* SSSTS or SMSTS certification
* Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations and HSEQ management systems
* Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
* Proven ability to assess risk and influence safer ways of working
* A confident communicator, comfortable engaging stakeholders at all levels
* Highly organised, able to juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment
* A clear commitment to championing a safety-first culture
* UK driving licence and flexibility to travel for site audits
