We are seeking to recruit a Service Support Officer to join the Corporate Service Support team on a full-time permanent basis. The role will provide agile administrative support to assist in the delivery of Council services.
About the Role:
The Service Support Officer will support two Council teams daily: the Targeted Care and Enablement team and Highways and Environmental Services/Property Services.
The Targeted Care and Enablement team offers a short, intensive enablement service for people with disabilities and those who are frail or recovering from illness or injury. The team aims to help individuals restore optimal independence and support those with ongoing care needs.
Typical duties include processing referrals, creating and sending contracts to agencies, collating data, inputting case notes into specialised systems, and processing documents for care packages.
The Highways and Environmental Service covers a range of specialised services, including Engineering (planned and reactive highway maintenance, road closures, streetworks), Local Environment Services (waste management, passenger transport, harbours), and responsibilities for cemeteries, including burial and memorial requests.
Property Services support the Council’s projects through property and building maintenance, facilities management, carbon management, and efficient use of council property.
You will perform various administrative duties across both teams, such as handling calls, managing information in IT systems, correspondence, minute-taking, and other office activities.
About the Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths at grade C or above.

* Good numeric and analytical skills
* Understanding of data security and confidentiality

The role requires flexibility and adaptability to move between teams and manage workload fluctuations. A methodical approach, attention to detail, and excellent IT skills are essential. The successful candidate must have basic Welsh language skills, including understanding and contributing to conversations and reading basic written Welsh correspondence.
