Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self‑motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our UCAT team where you will be integral to ensuring safe and effective delivery of care. Our UCAT team operates a 24/7 service and provides same‑day/emergency mental health responses to the approximate 375,000 population of Fife. You will work alongside registered nurses and other team members, adopting a pro‑active, therapeutic, person‑centred approach to care delivery. Referrals are received from Victoria Hospital’s Emergency Department, Primary Care and from internal and external agencies. You will record all appointments via electronic systems, send information to primary care regarding assessment outcomes and support the overall running, safety and security of the designated clinical area.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide same‑day/emergency mental health responses for the 375,000 population of Fife.
* Assist with trauma‑informed care, including management of distress and disturbed behaviour.
* Liaise with and coordinate other services to ensure continuity of care.
* Report any changes in patient presentation to registered nurse colleagues.
* Provide one‑to‑one care and support under supervision, including observation and escorting patients.
* Support administration, record keeping and order department stock and supplies.
* Participate in wider service activities, including deployment to support other clinical areas when required.
* Contribute to the effective running, safety and security of the designated clinical area.
* Record appointments via electronic systems and send assessment outcomes to primary care.
Essential Requirements
* Become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme before appointment.
* Have the right to work in the United Kingdom. This must be demonstrated through appropriate visa status or EU settled/pre‑settled status before submitting your application.
