Role Description for Treasurer (Trustee)
Untapped (UK) CIO
CRN: 1208848
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the purpose of the role?
Untapped requires skilled trustees who will support the work of Untapped Art Therapy to reduce youth suicide and self-harm in the BCP area, using Art Psychotherapy.
Role Description
A charity treasurer will advise trustees on their financial responsibilities, may chair the finance/audit committee and liaise with professional advisors, such as auditors. In small charities like ours the role will be much more hands on, perhaps including routine finance duties, such as budgeting and preparation of reports.
Utilising your specialist skills in charity and governance, you will support Untapped to effectively develop and deliver our services to increase our impact and support sustainability.
Trustee/committee members have individual and collective responsibility for the running and management of the organisation. This means that each person must play an active part as the decisions and actions of one or a few will be judged to have been taken by everyone.
Trustees have the role of strategic management (i.e. where the organisation is going and what it should be doing) and not necessarily operational management (i.e. what needs to happen day to day). For Untapped, the trustees may also be doing the day-to-day work as very active volunteers, however, this is wearing a different ‘hat’ from when they meet together to make strategic decisions.

Professional or experiential skills in charity finance
Good administration skills, being organised and efficient.
Good computer skills, and a willingness to use own computer with good internet speed

About Untapped (UK) CIO
Untapped are a small charity providing Art Psychotherapy to support vulnerable/neurodiverse young people. Our work helps reduce youth suicide and self-harm, bridging the gap between what CAMHS can provide and what parents/guardians can afford. We deliver individual and group work in schools throughout BCP, and support clinical trainees.
Untapped began in 1995 as a community arts company, delivering art workshops to vulnerable community groups. We remain dedicated to relieving the suffering of vulnerable young people, re-investing our profits into our local provision with vulnerable and at-risk young people.
All our Art Psychotherapists hold an MA in Art Psychotherapy, are HCPC registered, DBS checked and fully insured.
