The Role
* Be accountable for the development and release of SaaS (B2B) services to high-quality standards, within a wider product planning process, adhering to mutually agreed timescales and software requirements. This involves applying agile processes and effective team coordination.
* Work with the Product Owner to define, refine, and deliver the product backlog.
* Liaise with stakeholders to understand non-functional requirements; recommend and present high-performance solutions targeting Azure.
* Contribute to feature delivery through hands-on development, following best practices for security, maintainability, testability, and performance.
* Provide technical and people skills to unblock issues and suggest actions to prevent recurrence.
* Coach and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative, quality-focused engineering culture.
* Develop and retain high-caliber software engineers, identify training needs, and grow team capabilities.
* Collaborate with the Product Architect to define and document system architectures.
Qualifications
* Experience leading a multi-disciplinary Scrum team, delivering complex SaaS solutions.
* Practical experience with the full SaaS lifecycle in a production environment: requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
* Strong understanding of software engineering principles and design.
* Experience with backend development: RESTful APIs, C# .NET Core/ASP.NET, Azure services, JSON/XML.
* Experience with cloud technologies, especially Azure.
* Strong grasp of DevOps principles, with ability to automate SaaS delivery processes.
* Knowledge of emerging technologies, their benefits, and limitations.
* General knowledge of the Insurance Industry.
* Understanding of UX principles; ability to develop GUI from wireframes/mockups.
* Interest in team and people management growth areas.
* Familiarity with Pulumi, ARM templates, or Infrastructure as Code tools.
* Experience with Host, Network, and Permitter Security design and implementation.
