Our local government clients are seeking Care Workers for Adult Social Care, a unique opportunity to provide a range of personal care duties to service users with learning disabilities. This role also involves contributing to care planning processes through observation, communication, and liaison with service users, relatives, other staff, and agencies, always ensuring confidentiality.
Your Key Responsibilities will include:
As a Care Worker, your role is crucial in providing support and packages that help individuals maintain their independence. This involves making provisions across seven days, during the day and evenings, and occasional work outside rostered hours as and when necessary. Your efforts will enable service users to maintain and develop personal, practical, and social skills linked to individual programs and activities.
Qualification – Essential
GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
NVQ 2 Diploma in Care (desirable). Willingness to undertake a diploma in care (essential).
Intermediate – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media, and CRM.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience Requirements - Criteria to be Evaluated at the Shortlisting Stage.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team delivering a high-quality service.
A willingness to undertake personal training and development
Experience in providing support and care for people in a residential or home setting.
Experience supporting and caring for individuals with Learning Disabilities.
A solid commitment to excellence in customer care in a diverse community.
Willing to work efficiently and effectively, and looks for ways of improving services and outcomes for customers.
Knowledge and commitment to making safeguarding personal and promoting the well-being, co-production and welfare of vulnerable adults.
Works well with colleagues but is also able to work on their own initiative.
Shares the commitment to providing a safe environment for customers and staff, and also treating all with respect and consideration.
Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing to complete records using an electronic or manual system.
Demonstrate an understanding of individuals' rights and choices.
Demonstrate an awareness of basic health and safety.
A willingness to support people with personal care needs in a way that preserves dignity and respect for everyone.
Work on the rota Shift system is available from 0700 to 14.30, 14.30 to 22.00, 22.00 to 07.00, including Bank Holidays and weekends. This may include night-time working and sleeping-in duties.
Ability to follow care plans and record information.
