Overview
Antenatal and Newborn Screening Failsafe Officer in the Screening team of Maternity in Eastern services, based at Wonford Hospital. The role supports the implementation, monitoring and maintenance of safety and quality assurance for the National Antenatal and Newborn (ANNB) Screening programmes. It involves data collation for all screening programmes, working with the Antenatal and Newborn Screening Coordinators, facilitating failsafe mechanisms to identify and prevent missed screening opportunities, maintaining audits for ANNB programmes, and collecting cohort data for KPIs. The post holder will communicate with professionals within the multi-disciplinary team regarding these screening programmes.
Job responsibilities
* Establishing and maintaining screening databases effectively.
* Implementing and maintaining fail-safe systems to ensure the eligible population has an outcome recorded for each ANNB screening programme.
* Assisting with activities aimed at maintaining and improving safety related to KPIs.
* Follow up with professionals where data is missing or repeat samples are required.
* Enter relevant screening results into patients’ electronic records where appropriate.
* Work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure timely screening of offered services.
Working pattern
Monday to Friday, 5-9.
