Job Description
3. Active engagement with plant safety, raising of safety concerns and strict adherence to the 12 Work Safe Basics
4. To be a hands-on (80/20% split practical/office based) member of the maintenance team, providing leadership and motivation to the engineering team
5. Leading a multi-skilled engineering team including delegation of work and monitoring individuals and team performance
6. Responsible for identifying and prioritizing pro-active and reactive maintenance tasks on a daily basis
7. Supporting the Engineering Manager in the day to day running of the department
8. Communicate with the site leadership team escalating any problems or issues related to production and engineering
9. Ensuring best practice is followed by the team and shared across all shifts
10. The writing of clear, concise handovers between shifts; capturing machines issues that could impact production
11. Lead the shift on day-to-day maintenance activity maintaining machine availability
12. Coordinate workplace organisation
13. Liaise with Engineering Manager regarding Continuous Improvement and long-term projects
14. Provide hands on support for shift teams
15. Coach and mentor maintenance engineers to develop succession plan
16. Identify training requirements of maintenance team
17. Mentor apprentice(s) within the maintenance department
18. To actively and analytically fault find
19. Operate in line with all Wavin HS&E standards and procedures
20. Responsible for overseeing plant safety including site emergency evacuation procedures
21. Appropriate supervision of team and contractors including permit writing and inductions
22. Drive Health & Safety and Environmental related issues to the Operational site leadership team
23. Identify and implement PPM and AM schedules and activities, driving continuous improvement
The Successful Applicant
A successful Engineering Team Leader should have:
24. Previous experience of leading a team (desirable)
25. Experience with digital maintenance planning software
26. Exposure to the SQCPD (or equivalent) model
27. Time served multi-skilled engineer, working within the manufacturing industry
28. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experienced/confident communicating with personnel at all levels
29. Effective organisational skills
30. Excellent time management with the added need for flexibility as and when required to meet business needs
What's on Offer
31. A competitive salary ranging between £48,400 and £52,000 per annum
32. 4 on 4 off to 5 on 5 off (Every other weekend off)
