Senior Project Manager – HVDC Transmission Projects
Location: East Anglia or Southeast of England (two locations)

Turner Lovell is a specialist recruitment partner for high-voltage transmission and energy infrastructure projects across the UK. We are currently supporting a leading engineering and project delivery company involved in major HVDC interconnectors, offshore HVDC converter stations, and transmission grid access projects in the UK and internationally.
To support the successful delivery of large-scale transmission infrastructure, we are looking for a Senior Project Manager with proven experience in HVDC project management. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing national and cross-border HVDC transmission projects that connect renewable energy to the grid.
You will be part of a global organisation driving innovation in HVDC technology and shaping the future of renewable energy transmission. This role offers the opportunity to work on pioneering HVDC interconnector projects in the UK and overseas, with travel to project sites and client locations as required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the full lifecycle of complex HVDC projects (design to commissioning).
* Manage teams delivering HVDC converter stations, substations, and interconnectors.
* Ensure compliance with safety, cost, schedule, quality, and contract requirements.
* Establish project controls, reporting, and risk management for HVDC programs.
* Act as Engineer’s Representative on major HVDC subcontract packages.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
* 6+ years’ experience managing large HVDC transmission projects.
* Proven success delivering HVDC interconnectors, converter stations, or substations.
* Strong knowledge of civil, primary, and secondary systems within HVDC projects.
* PM accreditation, plus solid commercial and contract management skills.
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management ability.
* Offshore or fabrication subcontract management experience is a plus.
