We are looking for a Wellbeing Coordinator to join our Compassionate Communities Team. This role is a part time position over two and a half or three days.
You will be responsible for organising and creating a varied social activities programme and group events, all of which will promote wellbeing for patients, carers, family members and wider hospice community.
We believe that communities play a vital part in supporting one another during times of increased health need, isolation, loss and grief, and an exciting opportunity has arisen for a new role in our Compassionate Communities Team. Working alongside hospice colleagues, existing services, third sector organisations, community groups and individuals – you will coordinate social activities for our patients, carers, family members and other people in our hospice community who are living with a life-limiting condition and those who have been bereaved, who may benefit from social engagement and wellbeing activities. This role will be based in the Hospice building initially and will reach out into the hospice community as the service develops.
A genuine desire to offer social & wellbeing activities to people who are living with a life limiting condition and are experiencing some of life’s most difficult times and transitions is essential. We also hope to offer activities for their families and carers too. We are looking for someone who is confident, kind and resourceful, who can curate, develop and facilitate a variety of activities, which encourage companionship, shared interests and help to lessen isolation and nurture relationships.
You will be a dynamic, creative and resourceful individual who thrives on creating social connections with a diverse range of people across our communities and be able to motivate and inspire others to come alongside. Relevant training or experience in health, social care or wellbeing would be an advantage.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Maggie Young, Compassionate Communities Lead on 0131 551 1381.
