Applications are invited for the post of Specialist Dermatology doctor with a special interest in Paediatric Dermatology to work with an established team of six consultants within the dermatology directorate. The appointee will have clinical responsibilities at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, and University Hospital of North Tees, Stockton-on-Tees.
The post is for a permanent Specialist doctor to work independently at both sites and be part of the consultant on-call rota.
The position is advertised for six sessions per week, but consideration will be given to those wishing to work fewer sessions. The post holder will have 2.5 sessions at UHNT and the remaining sessions at James Cook University Hospital.
A specialist with a subspecialty interest in paediatric dermatology is essential for this role. Candidates will have opportunities to progress within the department in an SAS role, taking on various roles in service development, research, or leadership. Support is available for those wishing to pursue CESR, including access to a supportive SAS team, a SAS tutor, and a CESR SAS lead.
* Maintain the highest clinical standards in dermatology practice, including outpatient clinics at both hospitals.
* Undertake on-call activities on a sessional and weekend basis, participating in the consultant on-call rota.
* Participate in annual appraisals and revalidation, with appropriate support for preparation.
* Engage actively in audits.
* Involvement in research, with the department actively engaged in several CRN research projects.
* The Trust supports ongoing professional development, providing time and financial support as per Royal Colleges' requirements.
* Support undergraduate and postgraduate teaching commitments.
* Perform any other appropriate duties as per the job plan.

The Dermatology Outpatient Service features a dedicated department with consulting rooms, a day surgery theatre, and facilities for phototherapy, photochemotherapy, patch testing, and iontophoresis. An in-house seminar room provides a library, computer access, and projection facilities.
