We are seeking a motivated and resilient Male Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide 1:1 support for a young person in Chigwell with high SEMH needs.
About the Role
This role involves supporting an intelligent and articulate young person who enjoys learning and benefits from structured, engaging support. The ideal candidate will be confident in building rapport, setting boundaries, and using shared interests to promote engagement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide consistent 1:1 support
2. Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
3. Encourage engagement in learning, including library visits
4. Incorporate interests such as fitness and sport into sessions
5. Respond appropriately to verbal behaviours and support positive communication
About the Individual
6. Presents with ADHD, ODD, high anxiety, and some OCD behaviours
7. Described as eloquent, capable, and keen to learn
8. Has a strong interest in business, boxing, and fitness
9. Engages well with home-based fitness sessions
10. Enjoys reading and visiting the library
11. May present with some verbal behaviours that require structured support
Ideal Candidate
12. Male LSA (essential requirement)
13. Experience supporting SEMH and mental health needs
14. Interest in sports, fitness, or boxing (highly desirable)
15. Confident, calm, and consistent approach
16. Able to build strong, respectful working relationships
17. Skilled in managing and responding to challenging or verbal behaviours
Working Days
18. Tuesday (1 day per week)
