Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Payroll Administrator. You will report to the Group Payroll Manager and will assist with the end-to-end payroll function for our 1,300 weekly and monthly paid employees.
Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Senior Payroll Administrator include, but are not limited to:
* Timely and accurate end-to-end processing of payroll including; starters/ leavers, journals, month end, year end, wage arrestment’s, holiday calculations, pension payments, resolving pay queries and dealing with external agencies including HMRC.
* Ensure legal compliance across all payrolls and function, ensuring implementation of effective controls and procedures.
* Continuous improvement of all payroll processes.
* Departmental communication and effective collaboration with HR personnel throughout the Group.
* Ensure that robust procedures are in place and that these are regularly monitored and adhered to.
* Administration of pension schemes and salary sacrifice schemes.
The Person
The key skills and qualities of the Senior Payroll Administrator are:
* Experience in equivalent role
* Excellent knowledge of UK/ Scottish payroll legislation.
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
* Strong and proven organisational and planning skills.
* Able to work well under pressure in a fast-moving business environment.
* Formal payroll qualification preferred but not essential.
* Experience of Felixipay preferred.
* Relationship management is essential in this role as you will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders.
