About The Pavilion
The Pavilion is a vibrant, multi-purpose venue hosting internal BCU events, external sports fixtures, and a wide range of public events including weddings, parties, wakes, and conferences. The Role
As Bar & Events Supervisor, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the bar and the successful delivery of events. You'll support commercial hire activity, help develop client relationships, and contribute to income generation for the venue — all while ensuring exceptional customer experiences.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service
Lead and supervise bar staff during events and busy service periods
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar and cellar areas
Monitor and manage stock levels, perform regular inventory counts, and minimise waste
Oversee drink offerings and promotions, staying up to date with industry trends
Manage opening and closing procedures, including cashing up and securing the premises (key holder responsibility)
Monitor bar sales and expenses, supporting financial performance
Deliver outstanding customer service to students, staff, and external clients
Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
Communicate effectively with customers to ensure expectations are exceeded
Support the seamless execution of a variety of internal and external events
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Has proven leadership or supervisory experience within hospitality
Has experience managing licensed bar operations
Has worked at large-scale internal or external sports events
Demonstrates excellent customer service and communication skills
Is confident working under pressure in a busy environment
Has strong organisational and interpersonal skills
Is flexible and able to work evenings, late nights, and weekends
Presents a professional appearance with a friendly and helpful manner
Understands health and safety and licensing regulations
