Finance Manager

Position Summary
The External Reporting Technical Accounting team provides technical accounting advice and expertise to GSK Corporate Development, Global Finance, and Corporate Treasury teams. The role involves reviewing and approving technical accounting papers ahead of key reporting deadlines, including hedge accounting documentation. It requires an understanding of specialist areas such as intangible assets, business combinations, VPPA, and derivative accounting.
The role also delivers accounting expertise and thought leadership in all areas of technical accounting under IFRS, including R&D, commercial deals, financial instruments, acquisitions, and divestments.
Key responsibilities include being a point of contact with external auditors throughout the year for technical accounting matters and reviewing a selection of the notes in the Annual Report and Quarterly Results Announcements, including accounting policies.
The role includes understanding and planning for changes from principal regulatory bodies (UKEB, IASB, FRC, SEC, and ESMA) as their work impacts GSK.

Basic Qualifications & Skills
* Bachelor’s degree.
* Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
* Experience with reporting in a listed company environment.
* Knowledge and experience of accounting for financial instruments, acquisitions, and divestments.
* Attention to detail, prioritising between critical and non-critical activities, and identifying areas for process improvement and efficiencies, with excellent planning, time‑management and organisational skills.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non‑finance colleagues.
* Leading change and transformation, bringing a different perspective that enables change to take place.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
* Experience in the Life Sciences industry.
Working arrangements
This role is hybrid, combining time in the office with working from home. You will work from our UK site and connect closely with local and global colleagues.
