Monarch Education is working with a Primary School in Bournville to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant (Full-Time).
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Bournville area of Birmingham. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 12 weeks of experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Applicants must also hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or an equivalent qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting pupils with SEND both in the classroom and during targeted interventions
Assisting with the development and implementation of individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs)
Promoting independence and confidence among pupils with diverse needs
Working closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil progress
Supervising and managing behaviour to create a positive learning environment
Assisting with personal care and other specific needs where necessary
Encouraging and facilitating participation in learning activitiesPerson Specification:
Minimum of 12 weeks of SEND support experience within a primary school setting
Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent
Strong understanding of SEND, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to support
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
