Calling All Psychology, Criminology & Sociology Graduates – Schools in Sunderland Need You

Remember why you chose your degree? To understand people, to make sense of behaviour, to help others grow? Here’s your chance to put that knowledge into practice every day.

Sunderland schools are looking for graduates to step into roles as Mental Health Support Workers, Learning Support Assistants, and Pastoral Support Assistants.

Why you’ll fit right in

Your background means you see beyond the surface. You understand that behaviour is communication. You know how to listen, how to stay calm, and how to guide young people through tough moments. That’s exactly what schools need: people who can help pupils feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

You’ll be:

* A steady role model when the classroom feels overwhelming

* A listening ear for students navigating challenges

* A bridge between pupils and teachers, helping learning click

What you’ll get

* Monday–Friday, term time only – keep your evenings and holidays free

* Real-world experience that links directly to careers in education, psychology, social work, youth justice, or counselling

* The satisfaction of knowing you’ve been the difference in a young person’s day
