New Directions Education is recruiting for an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work within a school in the Newport area. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to support children with additional learning needs and make a real difference in their educational journey.
Role Overview:
As an SEN LSA, you will be working closely with pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, supporting their learning and development both inside and outside the classroom. You will work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO to help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs.
2. Assist with classroom activities, learning tasks, and behaviour management.
3. Support pupils with their social and emotional development.
4. Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals.
5. Help create a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment.
What we’re looking for:
6. Previous experience working as an SEN LSA or in a similar role.
7. A caring, patient, and empathetic approach.
8. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
9. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the school.
