Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulatory Officer - Field Based - 31634
We are looking for professional, enthusiastic people to join our team of Regulatory Officers in the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) team within Batteries, WEEE and Shipments, part of Environmental Markets and Regulation. This is a field-based role with national travel across England and overnight stays required.
Responsibilities
* Undertake audits (on site and virtual)
* Take appropriate enforcement action when necessary
* Disrupt non-compliance
* Collate and analyse complex data to support evidence-based regulatory decisions
* Handle confidential and sensitive information in line with data protection guidelines
* Contribute to development and improvement of processes and procedures
The role is varied and challenging. You should be able to work as part of a dispersed team while remaining self-motivated and disciplined.
Experience/skills Required
We are looking for people with diverse backgrounds who can demonstrate the capabilities and interpersonal skills needed for the role. Waste industry or regulatory experience is not necessary as you will receive full training. You should enjoy working both outdoors and in an office environment and demonstrate the right behaviours. You should be able to show that you are:
* effective, organised and able to prioritise
* rational/composed
* IT/computer literate
* comfortable with numbers and large data sets
* passionate about the environment and willing to learn about environmental regulation/enforcement
And can:
* handle confrontational situations
* adapt your communication style to suit others
* integrate into a team
* record information accurately
