Job Description
We’re looking for a dynamic Automation and Installation Engineer to join our busy Production Team based in Kent, taking a lead role in the assembly, installation and commissioning of our electromechanical smart weighing systems.

Requirements
What You’ll Do
• Assemble complex electromechanical systems to high-quality standards at our production facility in Edenbridge, Kent.
• Install and commission systems at customer sites when required, including international travel.
• Work in partnership with the Production Team to ensure build deadlines are met.
• Represent OSCABE onsite as a customer-facing engineer.
• Support planning, design, development, service, and troubleshooting.
• Attend daily visual management and project meetings.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Engineering qualification – HND or higher (or equivalent).
• Experience with electromechanical systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Electrical panel wiring knowledge.
• Strong communication skills.
• Full UK driver’s licence.
The Ideal Candidate Would Also
• Have PLC programming experience.
• Be familiar with lean manufacturing.
• Hold a forklift licence.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on machinery and equipment, ensuring fitness for purpose and accurate completion of associated documentation. Report deficiencies to the Engineering Manager or relevant department manager. Work with line supervisors and operatives to minimise downtime and assist with equipment setup. Respond to breakdowns safely and efficiently, providing effective repairs. Document and monitor all downtime and breakdowns, completing service sheets, reports, and analysis. Support colleagues during major breakdowns or periods of high engineering demand. Complete risk assessments and method statements as required. Manage and oversee contractors onsite, ensuring safe working practices and compliance with company procedures. Work with the Engineering Manager to manage spare parts, budgets, and accurate stock records. Raise purchase orders for parts and maintain clear records of lead times and usage. What You Bring Strong electrical and mechanical skills and experience. Knowledge of electrical control systems. Specific plant knowledge (preferably within food production). Previous experience in engineering and maintenance within a manufacturing environment. Minimum of Level 3 qualification in Engineering/Maintenance (or equivalent).
