Clerk of Works - Damp and Mould South West London 3 months ongoing contract £324 per day umbrella Key Responsibilities Carry out detailed inspections of social housing properties and communal areas Assess the quality, standard, and completion of recently delivered major works Identify maintenance issues including damp and mould, fire safety, and structural concerns Recommend future planned maintenance and major works requirements Work closely with contractors to ensure remedial works are completed to required standards Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with specifications Sign off completed works, ensuring quality and contractual standards are met Provide expert Clerk of Works advice to the Planned Maintenance Team Maintain accurate inspection reports and documentation Requirements Proven experience as a Clerk of Works, Building Inspector, or Surveyor within housing or construction Strong knowledge of building construction, repairs, and maintenance Experience working within social housing or local authority environments Understanding of fire safety, damp and mould, and building safety regulations Ability to assess quality of works and enforce standards with contractors Excellent report writing and record-keeping skills Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities Compliance & Additional Information Experience working on planned maintenance or major works programmes is highly desirable Ability to work independently and manage inspections across multiple sites Knowledge of asset management strategies within housing is beneficial
