Project Engineer

Join a leading national engineering contractor delivering complex Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) solutions across the UK. We're looking for a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of high-quality construction and refurbishment projects from design through to completion.
The Role
As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with Project Managers and other technical teams to coordinate the technical aspects of M&E projects. You'll play a key role in the planning, design, and execution of engineering systems, ensuring all work is delivered to a high standard and in line with project specifications, timescales, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in developing and reviewing detailed technical designs and CAD drawings
* Support the implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) for project coordination
* Liaise with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure technical requirements are met
* Carry out site visits, surveys, and inspections as required
* Prepare and maintain project documentation and reports
* Monitor project progress, technical compliance, and safety standards
* Provide engineering input into cost estimates, procurement plans, and risk assessments
* Contribute to project meetings, resolving technical issues as they arise
The Candidate
We are looking for a hands-on, technically strong Project Engineer with experience working on building services or M&E projects.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Experience as a Project Engineer or similar in M&E or construction environments
* HNC, Degree, or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
* Strong working knowledge of CAD and technical drawing interpretation
* Familiarity with BIM and project planning tools (desirable)
* Excellent communication and coordination skills
* Attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving approach
* Willingness to travel nationally as required by projects
