We are TC Group, the fastest‑growing top 20 accountancy firm in the UK. We are looking for a Payroll Senior / Payroll Manager to join our team in either the Colchester or Clacton‑on‑Sea office.
Salary
£30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
Hours
Monday to Friday, 21-36 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working
Holiday
22 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)
Key Responsibilities
* Processing payroll on behalf of clients for varying client types
* Running a payroll portfolio liaising with clients and assisting with queries
* Managing internal systems
* Collaborating with clients to ensure seamless flow and maintenance of employee data, fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional service
* Maintaining meticulous records and a robust document control system, ensuring accuracy and compliance
* Staying up to date with company policies and tax legislation impacting payroll, ensuring adherence and compliance at all times
Qualifications
* CIPP qualified or qualified by experience
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a practice environment
* Knowledge of payroll legislation to enable client queries to be dealt with
* Skilled in Microsoft Office / Excel – essential
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Awareness of confidentiality and need for discretion
* Ability to work well in a pressured and fast‑paced environment
