Working with The Neve Jewels Group, you will have the opportunity to enhance and develop your existing skills and knowledge.**The Role**We are seeking an experienced Repairs and Assessment Supervisor to join our busy Birmingham Repairs and Assessment Department, with a yearly salary of up to £32,000, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience in a number of jewellery supervisor positions. The Repairs and Assessment Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the Repairs and Assessment Department, ensuring all repair, remake, and assessment activities are carried out by the department to a high standard and in line with business priorities.This role provides direct support to the workshop team, setting clear expectations, allocating and prioritising workloads, and ensuring resources are effectively managed to meet agreed turnaround times.The supervisor monitors departmental performance, productivity, and capacity, addressing issues proactively and implementing improvements to workflows, systems, and equipment. Acting as the central point of escalation, they support the team with technical guidance, quality control, and decision-making while ensuring accurate assessments, documentation, and reporting. Through strong leadership, cross-department collaboration, and clear communication, the Repairs and Assessment Supervisor ensures the department operates efficiently, maintains quality standards, and delivers consistent, reliable outcomes for customers and internal members.**Responsibilities**Your responsibilities as a Supervisor for the Repairs and Assessment department at Neve Jewels will include, but not be limited to:* Supervise the workshop team, allocating and prioritising tasks in line with business demands and individual skill sets.* Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new team members; successfully growing the team.* Monitor productivity, capacity, and performance to consistently meet deadlines and lead times.* Act as the primary escalation point for operational, technical, and customer-related issues.* Assess jewellery items to identify the root cause of faults, distinguishing between manufacturing and customer-related damage.* Determine appropriate repair or remake solutions and communicate outcomes clearly to customers and showrooms.* Liaise with CAD designers and manufacturing teams to resolve design and production challenges and optimise turnaround times.* Source diamonds and gemstones in line with budget, quality, and specification requirements.* Implement new systems, tools, and equipment to improve efficiency, traceability, and reduce breakages.* Develop and maintain systems and automations including excel based reporting.* Manage customer expectations by proactively communicating changes to deadlines or outcomes.* Maintain accurate data entry, reporting, and documentation using Excel formulas and tracking systems.* Carry out stock takes and monitor materials, inventory, and ongoing and completed live orders.**Qualifications, Skills & Experience*** Minimum 3 years of experience in supervising* Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a workshop, manufacturing, or technical environment.* Strong knowledge of jewellery manufacturing, repairs, assessments, and stone setting processes.* Demonstrated ability to manage workloads, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.* Experience implementing process improvements and new systems to enhance operational efficiency.* Confident problem-solver with the ability to make decisions in escalated or complex situations.* Experience working cross-functionally with CAD, manufacturing, and retail teams.* High level of organisational and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.* Proficient in Excel, including the use of formulas for tracking, reporting, and forecasting.* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines* Excellent attention to detail and a strong eye for quality* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well leading a team* Excellent organisational abilities.* Proficiency in using Apple iMac computers.* Advanced Excel skills, including data entry, formula creation, pivot tables, and data analysis.* Strong ability to manage and interpret large datasets for reporting and tracking purposes.**Experience**Jewellery Supervising: 3 years (required)**Work Location**In person**Job Type**Full time**What You Can Expect From Us*** Competitive salary* Private Health Insurance* 24 hr access to Employee Assistance Programme**Benefits*** Company pension* Employee discount* Health & Wellbeing Programme* Private medical insurance* Referral programme**Salary**Up to £32,000.00 per year**To Apply**If you think you can make a difference and want to be part of an exciting and growing company, then we look forward to hearing from you.Neve Jewels Group is an equal opportunity employer.
