Responsibilities
Provide and maintain a professional, efficient, effective and timely service to patients, visitors and other departments that contributes to high‑quality patient care.
Ensure the service supports the clinical care of patients and respects their privacy and dignity.
Ensure the health and safety of both patients and staff.
Contribute to the development of best practice within the department and support the training of new starters and inexperienced staff.
Assist the Porter Management Team in developing the service.
Provide a portering service to the whole of Royal Cornwall Hospital and to other sites as required.
Adapt to the unpredictable nature of the service by providing a flexible and reactive response.
