Job Overview
To act as the Trust expert in ED/Front Door and PAS Inpatients and contributing to the build, refinement and roll out of the new Electronic Patient Record (EPR).
This role is a key part of ensuring that the EPR delivers for Trust staff and its patients. The role will involve engaging with the programme team and EPR provider in developing and formalising system workflows that follow Trust policy and protocols as well as supporting the overall training and engagement strategies. As the programme progresses, this role will evolve to become a ‘Super User’ of the EPR systems, working with Trust and AHA colleagues to support the EPR roll out.
Main duties of the job
* Co‑lead the organisation and users transitioning to new ways of working
* Represent the Acute Trust in joint activities across the AHA
* Role‑model working constructively with end users, programme team and supplier
* Provide clinical/operational expertise into future state workflows
* Develop expertise with EPR functionality and workflows
* Understand, support and communicate programme scope, methodology and timelines
* Identify actual/potential clinical hazards and document
* Identify actual/potential programme risks/issues and document
* Justify requested design and workflow changes
* Champion the delivery and adoption of future workflows into the organisation
* Support the mitigation of risks (clinical, operational & programme)
* Support the change control process
* Support end‑user testing
* Provide expertise as a Super User

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
Deliverables
* Communicate effectively and champion the programme across the health system.
* Prioritise and participate in all necessary programme events and workshops.
* Identify and document benefits to the programme team to manage.
* Identify and document clinical risks utilising the Clinical Risk Management process.
* Identify and document programme risks/issues to the programme team to manage.
* Undertake activities that arise during the programme (e.g., the collection of material – e.g. paperwork); seeking workflow clarification from colleagues; advocating professional standards, and to feedback the results of these activities as required.
* Undertake system training, including self‑directed study of using play domains. Become familiar with EPR functionality and best practice (Model) workflows.
* Develop familiarity with accessing Oracle Cerner uCern and Wiki sites (e.g., roadmaps etc).
* Lead and present Future State Validation (FSV) workflows to your peers.
* Participate in end‑user testing.
* Review training materials to ensure correct messages, clinical/operational relevancy and value objectives.
* Undertake Super User training.
* Provide full dress rehearsal input and support.
* Provide daily support during go‑live and Early Live Support (ELS).
* Post go live, continue as a Super User & advocate for the duration of the EPR.

* Significant knowledge in the area/subject applicant is applying.
* Ability to describe the application of current ways of working (e.g., using paper records, existing electronic records and other supporting material).
* Provide expert knowledge in shaping the new system in your area and processes.
* Financial management responsibilities (including estimated size of budget).
* Human resources management responsibilities (including numbers and grades of staff).
* Asset management responsibilities (e.g., stock, equipment, buildings).
* Ensure technical hardware is sufficiently identified and provided by the relevant workstream in the locations where change will occur. Support the relevant workstream lead to ensure appropriate levels and specification of equipment are ordered through the appropriate channels.
* Working relationships:
o All BSW AHA Staff from floor to Board.
o External suppliers including but not exclusively Oracle Health Third party support ICB/NHSD/NHSE/.
o Other NHS organisations.
