Job Description
An established architectural studio in Edinburgh is looking to appoint an Assistant Architectural Technician to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their career who is keen to develop strong technical skills within a respected design led environment.
They are seeking an individual with around one to two years of practice experience who is confident producing technical drawings and supporting project delivery. This role will suit someone who enjoys the detail and discipline of drawing production and is comfortable working through packages methodically and accurately. It is not a project running position at this stage; instead, the focus is on supporting senior team members and contributing to the smooth delivery of live work.
The studio works across a varied portfolio of projects and can offer exposure to technically interesting schemes where quality and precision matter. They are open to individuals from a range of sector backgrounds, provided they bring strong core technical ability and a willingness to learn. Training and guidance will be provided, particularly for those who demonstrate the right attitude and commitment.
Candidates should have solid CAD skills and ideally be proficient in Revit. The ability to work efficiently within established drawing standards and to respond constructively to feedback is important. They are looking for someone who understands that early career development is about building foundations: accuracy, consistency and attention to detail. A proactive mindset and a genuine interest in developing technical competence will be key.
This is a studio based position in Edinburgh, offering the chance to be part of a collaborative and supportive team environment. They value individuals who are reliable, organised and motivated to grow. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a range of project stages and will have the opportunity to strengthen their technical understanding under the guidance of experienced professionals.
The practice has a steady pipeline of work and a clear need for additional technical support within the team. As such, they are keen to meet candidates who are ready to contribute and who see long term value in developing within a stable and well regarded practice.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and aligned with the level of responsibility. This is a strong opportunity for an assistant level technician who wants to refine their technical skills, build confidence in live project environments and progress within a practice that recognises potential and invests in development.
If you are ready to take the next step in your architectural career and are motivated to build your expertise within a professional studio setting, this role offers the right platform to do so.
