We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated cyber support technician to join our team at Royal London. As a Cyber Support Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our digital systems and networks. You will play a critical role in protecting our sensitive data, identifying, and resolving potential cyber threats, and delivering effective support to our internal stakeholders.
The Cyber Support Technician will use security tooling to address customer issues and ensure security operations function as expected. They should be able to offer sound advice, run security incident processes, and assist with changes.
The successful candidate should work independently in security-related tasks and be responsible for the ongoing operation of security technologies. This includes managing daily system and security application operations, analyzing security outputs and reports to drive investigations and improvements.
About the role
* Monitor and analyze network traffic for signs of potential cyber threats.
* Investigate and respond to security incidents, implementing mitigation measures.
* Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
* Develop and implement security controls and procedures to prevent unauthorized access.
* Collaborate with teams to ensure proper implementation of security solutions.
* Support end users on security issues, troubleshooting and resolving problems.
* Stay updated on the latest cyber threats and security advancements, recommending improvements.
About you
* Solid understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
* Knowledge of security assessment tools and techniques.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
* Relevant certifications such as CISSP or CISM are a plus.
* Ability to facilitate collaboration between stakeholders with diverse objectives.
* Ability to analyze, design, plan, execute, and evaluate work to meet targets, considering requirements and continuous improvement options.
* Engage with security specialists as needed and contribute to fostering a security culture within the organization.
