Job Description As a Roads Inspector with Aberdeenshire Council, you’ll play a key role in keeping our communities safe and connected by ensuring the region’s roads are maintained to the highest standard possible. You’ll be out on the network carrying out inspections, identifying defects, and helping to protect road users while supporting the delivery of essential public services. This is a role where your judgement, technical understanding, and attention to detail truly make a difference. You’ll work closely with colleagues and engage with contractors and utility providers where necessary, but your primary responsibility will be to identify, record, and report defects accurately, ensuring issues are captured in the correct systems and escalated appropriately. No two days are the same—whether responding to enquiries, assessing urgent issues, or contributing to planned inspection programmes, you’ll be part of a team focused on delivering high-quality, customer-centred service for the people of Aberdeenshire.
