Role
Adecco, in partnership with Bentley Motors, is seeking an Engineer for Prototype & Workshop Planning. Reporting to the Functional Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end planning and delivery of R&D vehicle build and update projects.
Key responsibilities include:
* Defining, planning, and steering the project.
* Creating plans and agreeing on the delivery model.
* Identifying and managing risks.
* Allocating and securing resources.
* Monitoring project progress.
* Resolving issues that hinder progress.
* Controlling costs within budget.
* Leading the project team.
* Updating stakeholders and senior management on progress.
* Ensuring timely delivery of project outcomes.
* Contributing to strategic reviews and planning for in-house or outsourced builds.
* Supporting the delivery of the department's technology roadmap.
About the Person
The ideal candidate will have an engineering and/or project planning background and demonstrate:
* Knowledge of project management principles.
* Understanding of vehicle components, packaging, hybrid, and EV powertrains.
* Strategic and tactical planning skills to meet customer demands.
* Knowledge of engineering, production, and quality processes.
* Excellent problem-solving skills.
* Understanding of rapid manufacturing techniques.
* Experience with Prototype Build & Press car preparation is advantageous.
* Strong organizational skills, self-management, and ability to handle complex tasks.
* Effective teamwork and leadership abilities at both brand and group levels.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior management.
The Function
The Whole Vehicle Prototype & Workshops Planning team develops strategic and tactical plans to deliver prototypes, simulators, press, media vehicles, and development activities. The team ensures delivery aligns with customer expectations by managing internal and external resources.
The team aims to understand global business demand, create delivery models, and resolve risks to meet commitments. Success depends on understanding customer needs, translating them into build plans, and collaborating with engineering and group partners. This role offers a dynamic mix of planning, technical expertise, business, and customer focus.
