Job summary
The Corporate Systems Service supports Finance Commercial and People teams in the use of SAP, Hornbill and other systems that enable the critical back-office functions in the Planning Inspectorate. They are a specialist service that encompasses BAU support, Continual Improvement and Strategic Change activity. The role enables the service to fully support users in building time critical access to data in support of management decisions and provide technical support to continuous improvement and change activity.

Job description
We are looking for a team player with strong communication and influencing skills as well as the capability to develop as a technical expert in the field of data, reporting and the development of management information for our users.�
A willingness to learn is essential in this role as we will provide a mixture of formal informal training and support to develop your skills in SAP.
This role might be of interest to people who have had experience producing data products from non-SAP systems such as Oracle, Workday or Dynamics.

On a day to day basis you will:
1. Work with users, SAP and data specialists to design and produce reports / dashboards from SAP tools, Hornbill Analytics, PowerBI.
2. Develop knowledge of SAP and other products and work with other team members and stakeholders to help determine best value solutions for end users.
3. Enable and support strategic data projects such as Data Warehousing and data migrations.
4. Demonstrate reports delivery services and train users.
5. Support data specialists in accessing SAP and other data.
Office Attendance
All of our office-based roles are contractually located at Temple Quay House in Bristol. We encourage office attendance to foster collaboration, conversation, group creativity and employee wellbeing. You will be expected to attend Temple Quay House at least 12 times a year. Depending on your role, you may be required to attend more often than 12 times a year either permanently or temporarily to ensure we deliver our services in the most efficient and effective way for our customers. Person specification
Essential Criteria
6. Previous Data Engineering experience using analytics and reporting tools
7. Experience of designing, building and testing products based on feeds from multiple systems using a range of different storage technologies and/or access methods (Data Development process, relevant skill level: Practitioner)
8. Willingness to learn the Planning Inspectorate�s SAP systems and data architecture
9. Demonstrable experience providing management information from Finance systems and Finance and Commercial business flows
10. Experience of selecting and implementing technology to deliver resilient, scalable and future-proofed data solutions (Data Integration Design, relevant skill level: Practitioner)
11. Knowledge of using standards and tools to design, code, test, correct and document moderate to complex programmes and scripts from agreed specifications (Programming and build, relevant skill level: Practitioner)
12. Demonstrable experience of collaborating and communicating with end users to assess their needs and translating into workable solutions using SAP and other Reporting tools (eg. PowerBI)
Desirable Criteria
13. Experience producing reporting and dashboards from SAP or other major ERP systems
14. Good knowledge of data governance and data security and privacy, including familiarity with the legal and regulatory requirements around data, especially GDPR and PECR.
