Suffolk County Council is seeking a Communications and Public Affairs Manager to join our team. This is a full-time, fixed-term or secondment for 2 years (project) role, working 37 hours per week. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement and a competitive salary of £58,270 per annum (pro rata for part-time).

Your role
You will work alongside the Head of Communications and other Communications Managers, leading a team that includes Senior Communications Officers, Communications Officers, and a Senior Graphic Designer. Your responsibilities include providing leadership, managing team performance, proactively planning to avoid pinch points, and overseeing campaign budgets. You will also deliver some communications and campaigns directly, drawing on your extensive media experience and stakeholder engagement skills.
Your responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate an influential integrated communications team.
* Make strategic decisions on resource allocation for campaigns and projects, manage budgets, and oversee team members.
* Create an environment that fosters impactful communications and enables team members to excel in their campaigns.
You will need
* Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience in communications and campaigns.
* Significant experience managing major multidisciplinary communications projects and campaigns.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with presentations, reports, publicity, digital, and marketing materials.
