Role Overview
Lead Oncologist for Upper GI cancers, sharing responsibility for the treatment and management of Lung cancer and Mesothelioma with Dr Thippu, Consultant Clinical Oncologist & Affiliated Assistant Professor. The appointee will maintain and enhance multidisciplinary management of patients, increase entry into clinical trials, and expand the service as required to meet patient needs.
Responsibilities
* Lead management of Upper GI cancers
* Collaborate with Dr Thippu on Lung cancer and Mesothelioma treatment
* Maintain and enhance multidisciplinary care pathways
* Drive patient entry into clinical trials
* Expand service capacity as needed
Service Improvement
* Contribute to the ongoing service improvement programme
* Develop initiatives under GIRFT and CIP
* Implement evidence-based new ways of working where necessary
