Private Client Legal Assistant Bath Department: Private Client - Wills, Probate & Estates TSR Legal is seeking a dedicated and professional Private Client Legal Assistant to join a highly regarded legal team in Bath. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a respected Legal 500-recognised practice supporting individuals and families with sensitive and rewarding work in wills, probate, estate administration and related private client matters. About the Role You will support fee-earners in delivering high-quality legal services across a varied private client caseload. Your work will help clients navigate important and often emotional life events with clarity, compassion and professionalism. Key Responsibilities: Support the preparation and drafting of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and other private client documents. Assist with probate applications and the administration of estates for deceased clients, including preparing necessary forms and liaising with the Probate Registry. Collate and organise financial information and estate documentation, including assisting with inheritance tax matters. Manage aspects of client communications - by telephone, email and in person - with executors, beneficiaries and third parties. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files using legal case management systems. Draft client correspondence, prepare client care letters and terms of business. Liaise professionally with external organisations (banks, HMRC, insurers, etc.) as part of estate administration. Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, best practice and compliance standards. About You We're looking for an enthusiastic professional with: Previous experience in private client work, ideally including wills, probate, estate administration and/or lasting powers of attorney. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple files. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused and empathetic approach. Confidence in dealing directly with clients and third parties in a sensitive and professional manner. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management systems. Desirable: Legal qualification or study towards a relevant qualification (e.g., CILEx, law degree) is advantageous but not essential. Why Apply?
