As Clinical Lead GP at Giffard Drive Surgery, you will play a senior leadership role, overseeing high‑quality, evidence‑based patient care while driving service development, workforce resilience and compliance with national standards.

Salary: £12,700 a session
Responsibilities
* Lead clinical governance, medicines optimisation, quality assurance and risk management across the practice.
* Provide direct clinical leadership and support to GP partners, ANPs, ACPs, nurses, pharmacists and other clinical staff.
* Drive clinical service development, workforce planning and succession strategy.
* Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Advance and monitor performance against QOF, CQC standards and public health targets, using population health data to address inequalities.
* Champion clinical education, mentoring and CPD for early‑career clinicians.
* Represent the practice in PCN, ICB, LMC and other strategic forums, building collaborative relationships with community, secondary and social care partners.
* Maintain professional compliance, including safeguarding, data protection and safeguarding lead responsibilities when required.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Fully qualified GP on the NHS England Performers List.
* Minimum two years post‑CCT with demonstrable leadership experience.
Desirable:
* Qualification or training in leadership, education or quality improvement.
Experience
Essential:
* Proven ability to lead a team through change, challenge and transformation.
Desirable:
* Experience in a clinical director, PCN lead or strategic GP role.
* Experience leading or contributing to CQC inspections and readiness planning.
* Experience leading multidisciplinary teams or cross‑sector clinical projects.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential:
* Strong understanding of NHS priorities, general practice contracting and quality standards.
* Skilled in clinical governance, medicines management and performance oversight.
* Confident communicator and influencer across clinical and operational stakeholders.
