Controls Engineer | Stourbridge | £32,000-£35,000 + Training & Development
We're working with a well established specialist in building controls and energy management, supporting a diverse portfolio of commercial buildings across the Midlands.
Due to continued growth and a long term investment in developing their engineering capability, they're now looking to add a Controls Engineer to the team.
The business is open to candidates from a range of technical backgrounds who have relevant knowledge and interest in controls or building systems, but who may not yet have deep, hands on BMS experience. Comprehensive training and mentoring will be provided to support your development.
The role will involve:
1. Servicing, maintaining, and supporting building control systems across customer sites
2. Fault finding and basic diagnostics, both on site and remotely
3. Carrying out minor software adjustments and system checks following training
4. Assisting with small upgrades, modifications, and improvement works
5. Working closely with senior engineers and commissioning teams to support project delivery
6. Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer service
Responsibilities will naturally increase over time as your experience and confidence grow.

About you:
13. A foundational understanding of controls, building systems, HVAC, smart buildings, or electrical/electronic systems
14. A relevant technical qualification or practical experience in a related environment
15. Strong problem solving skills and a logical approach to fault finding
16. Willingness to learn and develop within the building controls sector
17. Good communication skills and a professional manner with customers
18. Full UK driving licence
Experience with BMS platforms or protocols (e.g. Trend, Tridium, BACnet, Modbus) is advantageous but not essential - training will be provided for the right individual.
