Hoist & Stairlift Installation EngineerField-Based (South East & West Sussex)Must be within commuting distance of Eastbourne or surrounding areasFull-Time | £28,000 £32,000 per annum + overtime + call-out earningsJoin a respected, growing mobility specialist making a real difference every dayWere working with a well-established Sussex-based mobility company that installs, services, and maintains stairlifts, overhead hoists, and essential mobility equipment across the South East and West Sussex.They are now looking for a skilled and motivated Hoist & Stairlift Installation Engineer to join their expanding engineering team. This is a hands-on, field-based role where your technical expertise directly improves independence, safety, and quality of life for customers in their own homes.If you enjoy practical engineering work, solving problems on-site, and working independently in a trusted rolethis could be an excellent fit.What youll be doingInstalling, servicing, and maintaining stairlifts and overhead hoist systems in domestic environmentsDiagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults efficiently and safelyCarrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding to reactive service callsManaging your own field-based workload and daily schedule across the regionTaking part in a structured 1 in 4 emergency call-out rota (with additional earning potential)Completing clear and accurate service records, reports, and compliance documentationEnsuring all work meets strict health & safety standards and manufacturer guidelinesDelivering a professional, respectful, customer-focused service in private homesWhat were looking forEssentialPrevious hands-on experience with stairlift installation and servicingStrong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skillsAbility to work independently and manage your own workloadConfident communication and strong customer service approachExcellent practical problem-solving skills and attention to detailFull UK driving licence (clean preferred)Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours call-out rotaDBS check (or willingness to undergo one)DesirableExperience with ceiling track hoists or broader mobility equipmentKnowledge of LOLER regulations or lifting equipment standardsElectrical qualifications (e.g. 18th Edition, NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)Background in healthcare, assisted living, or domestic engineering environmentsManual handling training or certificationWhats in it for youCompany van, tools, and mobile phone providedManufacturer and in-house training to support ongoing developmentStrong opportunity for overtime and additional earnings through call-outsLong-term, stable role within a supportive and growing businessWork that is varied, meaningful, and technically engagingAutonomy to manage your own daily schedule in the fieldWhy join?This is a role where your engineering skills genuinely matter.
