The job
Due to business growth, we are seeking a new Design Coordinator join our Design team, based out of our Wolverhampton office. This is a key role for the team which will see you co-ordinating preconstruction & construction phase design deliverables, ensuring co-ordination right through to client handover stage. Reporting to our Design Manager, this is a hybrid role split between home and site, working on site or at the office approximately 3 days per week.
How you’ll contribute:
In this busy role, you will:
* Coordinate Design throughout pre-construction, construction and handover Phase.
* Assist in preparation of designers’ appointments along with design responsibilities matrix and schedule of services for each design consultant.
* Coordinate meetings with design team.
* Coordinate the flow of information between all key stakeholders – consultants/sub-contractors/site/client.
* Use the common data environment with the assistance of a document controller – Viewpoint 4 Projects.
* Produce the design release schedule in coordination with the project programme and procurement schedule.
* Monitor the release of design information against agreed design release schedule.
* Co-ordination of design team and specialist designing subcontractors.
* Provide technical advice as necessary to client/project team.
* Encourage innovative cost-effective solutions.
* Review design and specifications for alternatives to provide added value.
* Compile SAP/SBEM information for submission and compliance with Building Regulations.
* Input into the achievement f environmental assessment schemes for buildings, such as BREEAM & Passivhaus.
* Help coordinate the process of ensuring that planning conditions, building control approvals, section agreements and any other scheme specific standards are signed off in a timely manner.
* Work with consultants such as Ecologist, Arboriculturist etc. to determine what is required for the project.
* Input into ensuring design complies with CDM regulations.
* Input into delivering projects using Building Information Management (BIM) workflows.
Who are we looking for?

* Previous experience in a design coordination or design based role is essential.
* Construction / design based degree either achieved or ongoing preferred.
