An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role will oversee credit-related activities such as risk management, developing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based position at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team,
* Have a strong financial understanding,
* Possess problem-solving abilities,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills, essential for liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the main contact with Credit Insurers, monitoring insured limits, submitting claims, and assisting with renewal negotiations,
* Organise and lead monthly meetings with senior management,
* Provide management information on bad debts, debtor days, collections, and other reports,
* Manage cash collection for all Group companies,
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are effective and enforced,
* Oversee the Credit Control Department and manage the team proactively,
* Handle credit applications and documentation,
* Make major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Control credit limits,
* Manage litigation, insolvency cases, and pursue claims,
* Set and manage credit policies and credit notes,
* Conduct risk assessments for existing and new credit accounts,
* Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders,
* Review sales Terms and Conditions before approval,
* Visit customers and company sites as needed.
