Interim Financial Controller(Hybrid - Oxfordshire / Remote)
An innovative, fast-growing business is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to help steer its finance function through an exciting phase of growth.
The RoleReporting to the Finance Director and collaborating closely with senior leadership, you'll be responsible for the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations, ensuring compliance, delivering accurate reporting, and providing valuable commercial insight. This is a hands-on role that will suit someone who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, cash flow, and monthly reporting
* Prepare management accounts and investor reports
* Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash management
* Maintain compliance with HMRC and other regulatory requirements
* Implement and improve systems, controls, and processes
* Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
About You
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
* Significant experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role - ideally in biotech, technology, or startup environments
* Strong UK GAAP knowledge and regulatory compliance experience
* Proficient with Xero (or similar), Excel, and reporting tools
* Excellent communicator with the ability to simplify complex financial information
* Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced team
* Available immediately or at short notice
