Description
As the HSE Manager you will be tasked with the following;
Compliance & Governance
Ensure adherence to all government, legal and regulatory requirements through effective policy enforcement.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of HSE legislation and industry best practice, communicating changes and operational impacts.
Manage and maintain the site's legislative register and ensure documented compliance.
EHS Leadership & Culture
Drive continual improvement and support executive decision‑making to elevate EHS performance across the business.
Promote a positive safety and environmental culture across all stakeholders, including employees, contractors, customers, and neighbouring communities.
Lead site safety committees and support initiatives to strengthen engagement and awareness.
Management Systems & Auditing
Manage, implement and communicate the Integrated Management Systems (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001).
Lead internal and external audit programmes, ensuring audit requirements are met and improvement actions are completed.
Investigate incidents and non‑conformances, performing RCA and implementing corrective/preventive measures.
Training & Operational Support
Organise all required HSE training for site personnel.
Develop, implement and manage H&S programmes (Confined Space, LOTO, Hazard Communication, Waste Management, Emergency Response, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, etc.).
Oversee site safety protocols including inductions, access control, signage, and hazard awareness.
Emergency Preparedness
Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including liaison with emergency services, competent authorities, and arranging drills.
Act as Site Fire Officer, ensuring fire risk assessments and control measures are current and effective.
Process Safety & Technical Support
Support Process Safety activities including PHA, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, HFA, and ALARP demonstrations (COMAH‑related).
Manage COSHH assessments and ensure safe handling and storage of hazardous substances.
Environmental Management
Develop and lead the site environmental strategy and ensure compliance with the site's environmental permit.
Prepare regulator correspondence, manage permit variations, and report breaches where required.
Conduct environmental risk assessments (e.g., CDOIF methodology) and support product life‑cycle assessments.
Drive internal improvements aligned with the 12 Principles of Green Chemistry.
Reporting & General Duties
Report EHS performance, risks and opportunities to senior management.
Prepare and communicate required EHS documentation to relevant third parties.
Undertake any additional reasonable duties in support of company objectives.Profile
