What you will do:
* Chair and review Looked After Children (LAC) reviews, ensuring care plans are appropriate, effective, and outcome-focused.
* Monitor and evaluate the local authority’s performance in relation to care planning, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
* Provide independent challenge and scrutiny to social work practice, escalating concerns where plans do not meet the child’s needs.
* Ensure the child’s voice is heard, advocating for their wishes and feelings within care planning processes.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
* Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent)
* Evidence of continued professional development
Registration and Compliance:
* Registered with Social Work England
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks, such as the Children Act 1989, IRO Handbook, and Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations 2010
* Enhanced DBS clearance
