Here in the Mental Health Support Team in Slough we are looking for an Advanced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team on a part time basis.
Within these role you will be line managing, supervising & working closely with your Slough Getting Help Team colleagues & the Team Lead to provide mental health consultations and advice to partner agencies, including the Slough Early Help team, Youth Offending Teams & CAMHS pathways.
You will also provide assessments & short-term, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to young people with mild to moderate mental health needs. You will promote the emotional wellbeing & mental health of young people in educational settings and provide outreach support to promote engagement, where needed.
We are big on staff development and can offer internal and external training opportunities. Operational management & clinical supervision will be provided within Berkshire Healthcare CAMHS.
The service operates Monday to Friday 9 - 5 and your role will be a mix of face to face appointments but also leave room for home working. You will be in charge of managing your own diary.
Main duties of the job
* Clinical assessments for young people up to the age of 18 years, presenting with mild to moderate mental health problems
* Short-term, evidence-based therapeutic interventions (individual, group, family, as appropriate)
* To offer training, consultation and supervision to external agencies with regards to the mental health presentation of children and young people who are accessing the MHST.
* Ensuring liaison and joint working between the Getting Help / MHST and the locality Early Help Hub and specialist CAMHS services.
* Use of routine outcome measures to promote active participation from young people and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
* Training to professionals

Essential
* Appropriate qualification as either a Clinical/Counselling/Educ ational Psychologist (Doctoral) level training and relevant UK Professional Registration (HCPC/BPS). oOr as a Systemic Family Psychotherapist (MA/MSc qualification with full registration as a Systemic Psychotherapist with UKCP) oOr appropriate qualification to be an existing CAMHS clinician at Band 7 for example, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Registered Nurse, CBT Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker.
* Supervision qualification, or willingness to undertake supervision training
Desirable
* Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field of mental health and able to demonstrate significant practice.
* CYP IAPT Training e.g. CBT, Systemic Family Therapy, Attachment based training Interpersonal Therapy [IPT].
